There’s nothing like hearing updates directly from Didi! So here it is, after a little over a month- we peek into her busy life as she takes the memory of her friend Rebecca in all her journeys… Read on.

Hey Everybody!

Hope all is well wherever you are and whenever you happen to be reading this and thank you for visiting my page.

Now then, I shall tell you…

It’s been a different world being off tour and being off the American Idol gig for a month or two. It’s not really how it was before the show and I love it… it’s just a lot to take in.

I seem to have somehow lost the time as I have been in a pile of papers, notebooks, phone calls, traveling, beginning again, writing new songs, meeting incredible interesting new people, seeing my long lost friends- and paying tribute to Rebecca Joy Lear with our good friend Tony Hays from Wichita, KS while in Chicago for Crystal’s wedding. It’s all starting to come together, though.

I have been writing a whole lot with different people and experimenting with different styles and all kinds of crazy experiences and feelings…

Anyway, Since I got back I had the pleasure of being asked to perform at the Blue & Green Showcase up at Revolver Studios by Angelique Sheppard and David Garner. I played two of my originals, one of my favorite new songs I wrote with Jason Reeves and Makana Rowan called “Don’t” it’s on you tube.

There were a bunch of really incredible artists that played that night including Kelly McGrath, Lady Danville, Angel Taylor, Jenni Alpert, John West.. And so many many more- there is more info on my fansite dbfansite.com who were so sweet to post all this.

Blue n’ Green Songwriters Showcase

I played a benefit up in Santa Barbara for The Dream Foundation and met so many wonderful people… Including the founder of The Dream Foundation and Kenny Loggins

I wrote a new song with Kyler England, Jordan Lawhead, Richard Harris, Recorded a few songs I wrote with Josh Zegan and Michael Garner of Lady Danville.

It’s been nothing short of spectacular… being able to just work solely on my music when I want to. Such a Blessing. I can’t wait to get something together for all of you all that support. I promise you it’s coming together and I hope you will love it. I do.

It’s a crazy thing to be putting yourself out there for the world to see. Finding your way to fearlessness.

I was in Chicago this weekend for the first time since tour to be there for a very special friend to celebrate a very beautiful, magical time in her and her new family’s life. I am so incredibly happy for Crystal, Brian, and Tony.

The man who married them is also a music lover and they set me up with a podcast for Chicago Acoustic Underground (CAU). Crystal, Brian, Tony and Tony Hays (my Belmont buddy) and Everyone @ that place was incredible. I’ll have more info on that in a few weeks when it becomes available

Thank you everybody there, I am so grateful to be in a place where I am allowed to play Rebecca Joy’s Music in a place she always wanted to play. Thank you Tony for playing- thank you to Rebecca for the songs that touch people’s lives every time and for inspiring me to begin a new life.

Yeah. If there is anything I missed I’ll post it in the next one…
