We had the honor and privilege of communicating with Didi’s parents when we invited them to share their story regarding the recent American Idol Live Tour stop in Knoxville, TN- Didi’s hometown!
Mr Moti Benami kindly offered his thoughts with us in short emails but foremost we’d like to make a public announcement in his behalf.
There were two young ladies who approached Mr Benami after the show who initially did not believe they were really talking to Didi’s dad. They asked to see his Driver’s license!!
And then asked for a picture with Mr. Benami and Didi’s brother Randy taken on their camera. PLEASE if you are who we are describing, identify yourselves and send us a copy of this picture to admin @ didibenamifansite . com (no spaces). Mr Benami wanted to invite you ladies backstage to personally meet Didi but you have disappeared.
We are requesting a copy of the photo so we can pass it on to Didi’s parents. They wish to chronicle the events that day and want to remember all the people they have met at the memorable concert. We ask anyone who may have heard of this story or know the two ladies, kindly send us an email. Thank you.
UPDATE: On Sunday, Aug 1st we received a response from the ladies Mr. Benami met at the concert. We got permission to publish their kind reply to share with everyone wanting a follow up to this story: All is well that ends well.
We are the two ladies at the concert. We had an absolutely wonderful time at the concert. It was quite the experience!!! I felt bad after telling Mr. Benami I didn’t believe him but he handled it so well.
Didi seems to have a wonderful family that is oh so proud of her! I really appreciated their willingness to talk to us and take a picture with us. We are VERY proud of the picture!!! We would have loved to met Didi. She is a very talented young woman. It was an honor to be at the concert. We had a great time!!!
Sincerely,
Kelly and Jacqueline King
On to Mr. Benami’s own reports and if we may paraphrase his notes:
>> the Knoxville show was overwhelming! The arena was almost full, some said about 8,000 people showed up and it looked full. (The concert in other cities estimates an average of 5k to 6,000 attendees per venue)
>> people from all over the south from as far as Oklahoma, Mississippi, Georgia as well as from Memphis and Nashville attended the concert.

Didi hand fan image
>>They distributed 150 hand fans with Didi’s photo. It was a great deal of success! People came and asked for it while they waited outside. It was hot and they used the fans to cool off.
>> Didi was overjoyed and very much thankful to all the hometown support.
>> In the end, Didi couldn’t say good bye and be separated from all her friends and family and she left for the bus with tears…
May we reiterate how happy and thankful the Benami Family are to everyone who supported Didi in her American Idol journey and who continue to support Didi moving forward after American Idol…

DBFansite’s note: We are so touched by the last note. It must have been very hard for Didi to go that night… but the show must go on for her…
Much appreciation to you sir, Mr Benami and Mrs Benami for sharing to the fansite your wonderful experience. Didi is a remarkable woman, an inspiration to us all who believe in her. WE LOVE YOU BOTH as much as we love Didi! Thank you for the gift of Didi…
