We admit, we lurk on the Idol forums every few weeks to check on what devoted fans are buzzing about on their favorite American Idol contestants. It is fun but be forewarned, it is quite addictive and you could lose hours of your time browsing through page after page of trivialities, ‘OMGs’ and ‘LOLs.’

We know American Idol contestants, whether they would admit it openly or not that they peek on forums and fansites to see the love and the hate (not!) fans have for them. We are always curious and they’re no different. After all they were once like us before they were famous –normal, regular people.

Fans usually like a couple or more contestants per season and much as we personally don’t like the monikers, they are created for uniqueness, easy recall and perhaps as a shortcut to typing the entire name such as “Magnami“- short for Didi Benami and Siobhan Magnus or simply the “Trinity” for the trios: Didi, Crystal and Siobhan.

There is a derivative to it now on Twitter and the idols have been acknowledging the names: “Magnamisox” and “Magnamisoxtevens” – short for the four girls who made it into the Top 10 and are going on tour.
